Street Smarts Workshop
Real-Life Skills for Everyday Walks
Do you dread walking your dog around your local area?
Does your dog struggle with roadside distractions, unpredictable environments, or the general buzz of daily life?
Would you like calmer, more connected walks—right where they matter most?
Street Smarts is a two-session outdoor workshop designed to help you take the skills you've built in class and apply them in the real world. We’ll work in the kinds of spaces dogs often find tricky—streets, footpaths, driveways, and local green spaces—with structured support to help build calm, confident walking habits.
This workshop is ideal for dogs who:
Pull or lose focus in everyday walking environments
Need help transferring their training from quiet fields to neighbourhood walks
Benefit from structured practice around everyday distractions
Are ready to add real-life layers to their lead work and focus skills
What We Cover:
Lead handling and positioning in everyday outdoor settings
Walking calmly past common distractions like bins, fences, and garden noises
Checking in, name response, and focus while on the move
Handling corners, kerbs, driveways, and gateways with confidence
Strengthening communication and connection out and about
Each session begins in a quiet car park and follows a relaxed, planned route through local residential areas—providing just the right level of challenge in a supported environment.
