Is your dog full of beans, easily distracted, or struggling to focus on you when it really matters? You’re not alone - the teenage stage or simply an excitable nature can make walks and daily life feel overwhelming.

This 6-week course is designed to give you and your dog the tools you need to move from chaos to calm. Using only kind, force-free methods, we’ll teach your dog how to:

  • Build focus and engagement, even around distractions

  • Develop self-control and learn to settle more easily

  • Walk more calmly on lead without constant pulling

  • Respond reliably to cues like recall and “leave it”

  • Cope with exciting or frustrating situations in the real world

Each week, you’ll be introduced to simple, practical games and exercises that make training fun and achievable. By the end of the course, you’ll have a toolkit of strategies you can use every day to help your dog become calmer, more attentive, and easier to live with.

Who this course is for

This course is perfect if you have:

  • A teenage dog who seems to have “forgotten” their training

  • A lively or over-excited dog who struggles to settle

  • A dog that is easily distracted and finds it hard to focus

  • A desire for more focus, connection, and calmness from your dog

Remember the saying “practice makes perfect”? That’s true for unwanted habits too — without guidance, excitable or distracted behaviour can become the default. This course helps you replace the chaos with calm, giving both you and your dog the skills to succeed.

This course is designed for dogs who:

  • Are easily distracted and struggle to focus on their owner

  • Get excitable when they see other dogs or people

  • Find it hard to settle at home or in public

  • Pull or bounce on the lead with lots of energy

This course is not suitable for dogs showing aggression or fear-based reactivity, such as growling, snapping, or lunging with intent towards people or dogs. These behaviours need a more tailored, individual approach, and class environments can sometimes make them worse.
